We've created a
kitchen and dining environment that combines the relaxed sea-side traditions
of a general store, where there's time for a chat while you pick up your
basic supplies, with the needs of visiting families and diners who expect
an interesting menu featuring local ingrediants that's served fresh and
fast.

The
Somers General Store kitchen is geared up to deliver on both fronts
so that you can leave with a coffee and a paper or, having stayed
for breakfast and lunch and a day at the beach, a great dining experience.

Turnbull has taken on SGS after two years at Mecca restaurant
under Cath Claringbold, a year at Attica under Perry Petters,
Planet Organic – London, Replete Providores – Hawthorn (chef) and Martin
Street Cafe & Providore (Head chef).
